Tift Regional Health System provides a unique graduate medical education (GME) opportunity for our Internal Medicine residents. Working alongside some of the region’s most experienced internists, you will help deliver patient-centered care in a collaborative learning environment. As part of our inaugural Internal Medicine residency class, you will help shape a new chapter in graduate medical education at TRHS and create a lasting legacy for future residents.

Application Process: What To Expect
- Our GME programs participate in “The Match.” All applicants must register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by the Program Director and Faculty, with interview selections to follow. Selected candidates will receive email invitations to interview at a mutually acceptable date and time, with availability beginning in October.
- Deadline for Applications: January 12, 2026
- The Internal Medicine program uses the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for both the Main Residency Match and the Supplemental Offers and Acceptance Program (SOAP).

Thank you for your interest in our Internal Medicine Residency Program. Tift Regional Health System (TRHS) is known for its personalized approach to patient care. We’re proud to serve a diverse community, and you will learn firsthand from our experienced, committed faculty members how to develop a patient-centered approach to medicine.
Completing residency training in internal medicine at TRHS will prepare you for a career in primary care medicine or as a hospitalist. This training experience is enhanced by the advanced technology and contemporary facilities we provide for our communities, as well as access to academic resources. Our mentorship program focuses on individual resident development, both professionally and personally. Our goal is to help you excel as a physician and as a leader.
Our faculty of experienced internists love to teach and are supported by outstanding subspecialty faculty. Our support staff enjoy working here and are ready to help our residents shine.
We also place strong emphasis on resident well-being and healthy work-life balance. If you want to live away from big city traffic with an affordable cost of living, this is the place for you! Tifton is a small, progressive town with burgeoning recreational, cultural, and dining opportunities. We’re close to the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, and Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Orlando are within a few hours’ drive.
